Washington
Continuing My USA Faves:
It was a dark and stormy night.
No, Really!
When we arrived in DC, we were lucky enough to catch the remains of one of those pesky hurricanes that hovered around from the time we hit New Orleans. Except that by the time it got to Washington, it’d been downgraded to a tropical storm. Basically that meant it rained. A lot.
We had a scheduled night tour of the city, where we visited the Capitol Building, the Jefferson Memorial, the Roosevelt and the Lincoln memorials. We scuttled through the rain to every single one of them, giggling like idiots the whole time. Then took extra care on those marbely steps….
One of my favourite pictures was taken at the Jefferson Memorial. It’s all columned and marbley and … grand. Heavy with Importance, it is. Lookit.

And.. Just because it makes me laugh…

I Long To Be A Part Of It.
I misseth the travels.
For those of you who don’t know, I recently jetted off to the United States for five weeks. I did this at just the right time, because about a week after I got back, Wall Street imploded and things went to shit. So while I could’ve kept on travelling, I’m kind of glad I didn’t.
My trip will also be completely paid off within two weeks. I am SO EXCITED to not have that debt hanging over my head.
One of the higlights of the trip?
New York.

I loved it. I’d gladly go back.
